A city from scratch
You know what they say - 'go big, or go home'.
British architects Allies and Morrison were appointed to create a masterplan for a completely new city in Oman called Madinat Al Irfan, located outside of Muscat - a whole city - just think about that next time you think you have a busy week ahead.
624 hectares of desert will be will be transformed into a bustling urban centre over the next 30 years. The architects want to create "a place that feels as if it has always been there". The intention is for it to be home to accommodate up to 280,000 inhabitants, made of up for those living, visiting and working there.
