A law firm, but not as you know it.

After twenty years serving as corporate lawyers, Steven Humphries and Trent Le Breton wanted to move away from the antiquated processes of traditional law firms. They resolved to launch a boutique firm, then asked us to develop a brand that would reflect their desire to challenge and improve the status quo. Beginning with branding and UX workshops, we devised a brand strategy that would come to life through identity, stationery, signage and website.
For Walter Baden to cut through a crowded marketplace, the brand-mark needed to capture an inherent audacity, while still reflecting core values and expertise. The solution crafts an artisan serif typeface, set in lowercase, reversed out of a vividly uncommon red. The two names are butted together, playfully separated by a ‘shadow’ cast by one of the letters. A suite of supporting abstract textures speaks to the brand’s endless curiosity, while the website’s bold UX reflects directness and technological know-how.
